We were given a huge challenge; we won an ESF & London Central LSC funded bid to train and up skill 100 playworkers in partnership with Wandsworth EYDCP. 

The project started in October 2003 and was finally completed in December 04.

The remit was to train people with no qualifications to achieve the CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Playwork, and to up skill those working in a supervisory position to achieve the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Playwork.

Recruiting students was done mainly by Wandsworth EYDCP as they were able to use their local knowledge to identify suitable candidates who needed the training in order to meet Ofsted requirements.

Then it was over to us……We were responsible for all the training, tutorial and any other support needed by the candidates.  What was really rewarding was that some who achieved Level 2 qualification first time around then progressed onto achieve the Level 3 diploma as well.

All of the excellent achievement was celebrated in an awards ceremony – Mission accomplished and a good result all round!
