Unit 9: Moving into Out of School Provision

Research has shown that although having an Early Years qualification gives carers an in depth knowledge of child development and the current childcare theories, practitioners who wish to work with older children need additional training and support.

Course Content

This 60 hour course provides playworkers with the understanding of playwork and the major play theories.  It explores management issues including team work and communication skills and highlights the principles of playwork, the links to development by providing an appropriate environment for play and exploring the role of the worker in the out of school provision.
