Unit 10: Protecting Children
Given the new statutory interagency child protection requirments anyone planning to take on the role of a designated child protection officer within their settings should undertake this unit.
Course Content
This unit provides the underpinning knowledge and understanding of the legal and conceptual framework for protecting children. This unit will cover in detail the requirments under the Children Act 1989 for child protection as well as the major theoretical perspectives on child abuse, and the roles and responsibilities of professionals in protecting and supporting children.
